Lotus Exige Scura

With the apparent worldwide economic crisis car shows have taken quite a hot. At this weeks Tokyo Motor Show, Lotus are on of only a handful international exhibitors. And to promote the occasion they have just released the Lotus Exige Scura.

Take a normal Exige, remove unwanted parts, use lighter materials, change the styling, up-grade the engine and out pops the Scura, Italian for ‘dark’. The seats, centre console and bodykit are all now carbon fibre, the engine is a 1.8 supercharged Toyota powerplant, kicking out 260 BHP and the paintwork has by sum been dubbed ‘stealth’ in it’s matte black finish.

The performance matches the changes, 0-60mph in a 4.1 seconds and on to 152mph, not bad for a go-kart! Of course less is more and with just 35 Scura’s to be made expect a price tipping £45K but it will be released just in time to be Santa’s sled this Christmas!
