What is Stubhub?
Whilst fan-to-fan ticket resllers are all very much the same, Stubhub is bringing its masses of US experience to our fair shores to shake up the stagnant market. It’s service offering, simplicity and partnerships make it stand head-and-shoulders above the others already and its only a matter of time before it becomes your one-stop-shop for late ticket purchases.
Launching in Texas, way back in 2000, they sought to shake things up by establishing partnerships with leagues and teams across a broad range of sports including those within the NFL, MLB and NBA. After some meteoric growth stateside, it was snapped up by eBay in 2007. To date it is considered the widest peer-2-peer ticket selling site in the world, and without a doubt the best when it comes to sport. But, anyone who knows anything about sporting tickets, knows that selling these on is not an easy business (officially that is).
To be able to sell tickets to certain events, you often need to have reached a licensing agreement with the venue, sporting clubs and league administrators. This is very much the rarity when it comes to Premier League football tickets – if you visit their site you’ll only find a list of sites NOT to visit rather than those that you should. Stubhub have an agreement with the league to act as an official reseller for Everton and Sunderland currently, but are adding to this next season with the addition of Tottenham Hotspur amongst others.

I must admit, having previously purchased festival tickets from another reseller, I was sorely disappointed with the delivery of the tickets and customer service, so this is really a step in the right direction.

As I said before, when I purchased tickets from another reseller, by the time I was at the checkout the price had jumped by about 15% from the value I thought I was getting them at. The prices are dictated by the marketplace of course, and sellers determine what they want (however unrealistic) when they list their tickets.
