Mercedes F1 2010 Car and Michael Schumacher

Early this morning, Mercedes GP unveiled their new F1 car for the 2010 season. The relatively small launch in Valencia, by none other than Michael Schumacher and this seasons team-mate Nico Rosberg marked the start of official testing at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo this morning.

The 2010 car is a far cry from the 2009 Brawn car, with a longer body (to accommodate more fuel), a new nose cone (similar to the … Continue Reading

Toyota FT-86

Is this the car to bring back the racy image Toyota has been missing the last few years? Well we think it might just be. The FT-86 has just been officially unveiled at this weeks Tokyo Motor Show.

Since partnering with Subaru, unsurprisingly many parts seem to be Subaru based. You can expect the 2L boxer engine, Legacy chassis and modified rear wheel drive. The boxer powerplant pushes out 200BHP, but the star is rumored to be the specially built six-speed manual … Continue Reading

Bugatti Galibier – The new Bugatti

Bugatti Galibier

Bugatti Galibier

Well here it is. The first official photos of the all new Bugatti Galibier. After months in the roomer mill the four door concept has finally arrived just before the Frankfurt Motor Show.

The first thing you will notice is the bodywork (obviously!) but more to the point the two-tone shell, which on this model is aluminum for the doors and the front and a weird, yet amazing dark blue carbon fibre. Expect the crazy Veyron engine, eight-litres of the thing, but … Continue Reading

Pothole swallows VW Golf

Wow, that is some hole. Imagine merrily driving along in your VW golf, and then… you disappear. Well that’s exactly what happened in Ukraine, apparently a broken water pipe caused a hollow hole under this peiece of road and as the german car procedded to drive over it the road gave way, swallowing the car. iPod Touch Controlled Mazda Car

Now I am not 100% sure if this is an April Fools Joke or not but I will take the risk!!

Some guys at ‘geekmyride’ (worth the post alone!) have managed to integrate an iPhod Touch with a Mazda RX-8 by using Wi-Fi. The custom application can be used to lock and unlock the doors, start and stop the engine, and finally open the truck. It also has a data window providing information on fuel level, battery voltage, RPM, speed, and temperatures. It’s even got a GPS so you can track the car’s wherabouts with Google Maps. And its all been done with a computer hidden in the trunk, hooked up to the on-board diagnostics, and equipped with a 3G modem to stay constantly connected to the iPhone.

Don’t believe me? Check the video after the break. Continue Reading

Terrafugia Car Plane Makes Maiden Flight

Terrafugia Flying Car

Terrafugia Flying Car

You may, or may not have heard about the Terrafugia, if not, think Francisco Scaramanga’s, ‘is it a car, is it a plane’ scene in James Bond’s The Man with the Golden Gun.

The Terrafugia is the first working ‘roadable aircraft’ and last week made it’s first voyage (voyage may be a bit strong) flying down a runway for approximately 30 seconds and travelling some 3,000 feet

The flight took place in the early hours of 5 March at Plattsburgh International Airport.

According to the MD, more than forty people have put down a $10,000 deposit for the new aircraft, which is planned to cost approximately $191,000 and will hit the road / air sometime in 2011.
Stats and video after the break. Continue Reading
