Premiership Football Weekend Preview & Predictions – 21 – 22 November 2009

Finally the Premier League is back! The internationals gave England a pointless trip to Qatar and Ireland were robbed after outplaying the French and Thierry Henry has single handily caused debate all over the football world. We’re not angry, just disappointed!

Liverpool and Man City kick us off at 12.45 with an interesting clash at Anfield. These two look to be competing for the final champions league spot and this is a game both will want to win to achieve that 4th place. Liverpool should have Gerrard back which is a huge boost for them. Torres is still a doubt … Continue Reading

Premiership Weekend Preview & Predictions – 7 – 9 November 2009

Welcome to another fact filled installment of our weekly Premiership review post. This week we are aiming for a minimum of 70% correct results purely because our results over the past few weeks have been dire. But don’t let that put you off, so read on!

With no early kick off this week there are a handful of 3pm KO’s starting with Aston Villa at home to Bolton. This is a bit of a difficult one to call as Villa have got the attacking flair to score goals but don’t seem to be getting the results they want. A mid-week … Continue Reading

England Match to be Internet Only

Well it seems the Setanta fall-out continues. It has now been confirmed that England’s next World Cup qualifier in Ukraine, this coming Saturday will be shown exclusively live on the internet who will have to pay for the privilege.

This is the first time an England match has not been available on television. And digital sport firm, Perform bought the rights to stream the match online.

However this is … Continue Reading

Chelsea Banned from Signing New Players

It seems those mighty blues (cough!) Chelsea have been banned from signing any new players in the next two transfer windows by Fifa. Karma anybody!?!

The Premiership club has been found guilty of luring French prodigy Gael Kakuta to the club by breaching his contract with Lens back in 2007. Chances are Chelsea will appeal but a statement on the FIFA website read;

“Chelsea is banned from registering any new players for the two next registration periods

The French club had lodged a claim with Fifa seeking compensation for breach of contract from the player and requesting also sporting sanctions to be imposed … Continue Reading
