The United Kingdom eSports association (UKeSA) has set up four professional and 22 amateur leagues that opens its doors to new gamers on Friday.
Players can compete using a PC, Xbox 360, Wii, or PS3 on up to 14 different games, including Counter-Strike: Source, FIFA 09, and Call of Duty 4.
You have to laugh, but apparently they;
- Have been planning this for several weeks
- Have set themselves up to be the Football Association of gaming
- This is the start of a process to make the UK the “most prominent and profitable sports market in the world,”
I just have visions of a 13 year old boy talking on instant messenger doing this interview and it is a complete hoax!!
You may remember the ill-fated Championship Gaming Series which collapsed at the end of 2008 but screened on Sky 1.
Well I hope they succed, as I used to be a gamer myself back in the day of the the original counter strike. But will they? NEVER!
